One dentist found a ton wrong that another one didn't?

You would think with all the regulations they have they could put a ceiling in how much can be charged. The hvac industry is the same way.
This is America and these are private businesses. Ultimately, excluding insurance, market forces of supply and demand dictate the equilibrium price for a procedure.

Yep. The free enterprise system is a double edged sword.

Docs hold people’s lives and health in their hands. I want them to be well compensated for their work. I can get a new AC unit if mine breaks. My body, I only get one of those.

Being well compensated never seems to refrain people from scamming someone. This whole thing reminds me of my chiropractor. Wanted me on some $5k treatment plan. Then later on someone posted online about his practice and how nobody's insurance paid for him. I went with a weekly adjustment instead and about 2 months later he slips up and i find out his $5k plan had nothing to with what I wanted fixed. He's like sounds like you have a hernia. 🙄 same exact thing with this dentist. He popped back into the office wanting to know what I wanted done before she even had a chance to explain the prices 😂 FYI the weekly adjustment was what I came up with. I didn't go with his plan

I think when they ask when the last time you've been to the dentist was, just don't answer. Or say 6 months ago.

I guess that would work as long as you don't plan on letting them look inside your mouth.

That's like never changing the oil in a car and when the mechanic pulls the valve cover telling him "I religiously changed it every 3k on the dot!"

The girl was actually impressed with how clean my teeth were considering how long it had been since they were cleaned
