I believe I have found the most efficient 18x1.5mm oil filter inexistence.
Correct me if I'm wrong. Please.

The price is don't tell my wife.

Nominal efficiency typically means at 50%. If you can find an OG Ultra (if made in that size and thread pitch), they were suppose to be 80% @ 5u which is better than 50% @ 6u.

These days I'm more concerned the things are even put together properly. I'll take whatever micron rating vs a filter that has the chance of permanently bypassing through a tear, hole, or non-existant seam. How sad is that?

And i know it is an enormous expense, but I'd prefer them tested by the same institution and preferably by the same person so you actually have comparable data without obfuscation efforts. But I just take my chances like everyone else.

It's a wix so it should be of acceptable quality.

Pretty sure WIX usually displayed 50% for that rating. Can you ask them for more efficiency information on that model?

Its considered a "bypass filter" so they might rate it like a hydraulic filter. If they did then that's probably the absolute rating.
It would be nice if they just posted the beta ratios.

There probably is no magic numbers full flow oil filter. I never bought a Trasko for my truck because they say the thick paper roll is the full flow part and the bypass has a 8-10 micron screen. They may work though, but common sense makes it questionable. Apparently Subaru was part of the development of Trasko oil filters, so it should have had testing.

Well thats not going to work.
Figured out what they mean by a "bypass filter" the outlet only has a tiny 1mm hole for oil to flow through. But it clearly says 7 to 9gpm like most of the other 18x1.5mm filters....
I saw 2 or 3 wix 18x1.5mm that were "8 micron" but that's probably about equal to a fram synthetic endurance filter or worse if they're using paper. Considering the latest fram synthetic endurance are rated B100=20 and I'd bet the synthetic endurance B2 equals around 8mu. No reason to spend probably twice as much for the same, worse or at best 1mu smaller.
