Obviously Brinker sold it years ago, even when they were still on their joint gift cards. But they’re preparing to close all corporate owned location, but will allow current franchises to continue operating them independently.

“On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina has made the difficult decision to move forward with a significant transition in its restaurant operations, which will include the closing of company-owned locations by end of day Friday, June 12, 2026,” OTB Hospitality said in a statement emailed to Fast Company.

I honestly don't think i've ever even SEEN one of their stores... just their Tortilla chips and Salsa in the Grocery store... like Chi-chi's the last couple decades...

All four? closed in KC Metro four years, one by one. Thought their food went down hill several years
ago. Of course in this area they are competing with several quality Mexican locally run restaurants anyway.

I didn't know they had any restaurants left. They closed up shop in the Denver area years ago. Their chips never stacked up to Chili's. Possibly the only reason I occasionally go to Chili's.

I’m not a big fan of chain restaurants, but going back about 10 years ago they had some really good items on their menu. We actually quite liked the place. They slowly changed/got rid of those items since then, and they aren’t the same.

Oh that place. I remember eating there once I think in 2011 and not liking it and never came back. I think that was the only one because I haven't seen one anywhere now that I think of it.
