Older BMW 3-sries

Yeah, but my woes weren't just fancy stuff going. I actually had a SEAT break in my 735!! Almost wrecked the car.

But on the other side my friend on the beach has an old 318 that has about 170k miles and runs like a gem with virtually no significant repairs. So I am not representing my experience as typical.

I would imagine if you got a good one they would age well, as many German cars I see with high mileage are still excellent drivers.

What was your last BMW? The new ones seem to be pretty trouble free.

I liked my friends old 735IL he had when we were in high school, but that's an almost 20 year old car at this point.

I enjoy my 88 325ic. I have about 150,000 miles or so on it (odometer broke and I don;t really need it)

Parts are easy to find as long as I'm passing through the states. Since they didn't really change much by model year (running changes), sometimes you need the VIN for the right part.

Last year I repainted it. a few years ago I re-did the leather upholstery.

I run CI-4 PAO 5W-40 in it, change it once a year whether it needs it or not. It doesn't get a lot of miles since I now drive the Corvair more and leave the BMW for my wife.

Richard, I would mind owning a fine example of a classic BMW like yours.

I hate to say this Richard, but I'd rather have the Corvair, much as I like e30s.
