Friend clearing out multi generations of stuff....couldn't let this an an old oil lantern go to waste. This still works well (after a little machine oil), but the cage and blades are bent, so it will be a small Winter project. I will replace the cord w/ a repro, but trying to decide if I should go with a three wire and ground the case somehow. My knowledge is limited here so, time to do some research.

Love the style...and the 'safety' cage.

I like how you can clean the dust out of that thing without disassembling it.
Shoot it with electric cleaner.

Could it be a DC motor or universal?
I'm still getting off on the asbestos cord.

So true and so inarguable, but, maybe they learned the hard way about toddlers being attracted to such a thing?

Oh, I just remembered...a toddler being hurt by a fan is on the negligent mother [who should've been watching the kid].

Amen. I figure in about 200 years the human race will starve to death because there's going to be a time when people just become to stupid to survive. Or Terminators. One or the other.....
