There is a lot of truth to your post.
If you really want to see a chiropractor squirm, ask him/her if he considers himself a read doctor. Of course, he will say that he is a real doctor. Then ask him to write a prescription. You will probably hear crickets chirping.
For the record, I have a nephew who is a chiropractor. (And he's got the college loan payments to prove it, I guess) He is wonderful at what he does and has helped me out a bunch of times. He is also a chiropractor who will treat you only until he thinks you are healed. He will not continue to treat somebody until the money/insurance runs out. But he is rare in this field.

Yes, there are good ones and bad ones. Some are just physical therapists by another name. Some throw in some new-agey stuff combined w/ the latest "study" they read on the interwebs.

My pet peeve are the ones like a local chiro who loves to advertise himself as "Doctor" such and such and rarely mentions he's a chiro and then spends half his show ranting about MD's and giving advice that is 180 degrees from what any doctor would or should give.

I'm not saying doctors are above criticism but it seems like some chiros and these naturopathic doctors of "integrative" medicine like to build up strawman arguments against MD's to make themselves look better.

This article sums up your rights for medical records, BTW: http://patients.about.com/od/yourmedicalrecords/a/getmedrecords.htm

I've seen that happen, too. Also, if the "doctor" doesn't have their records fully digitized, they may be stored in some warehouse and he/she may be trying to avoid the effort of retrieving them.

This. It is the legal duty of the chiropractor to release the documents to the insurer. If they don't the insurance company can and should go after him .
