Ok, I want a new phone....

I've used Moto G's for a long time. I currently have a 2022 model with a stylus (that I hardly ever use). I've got few complaints and I couldn't live without the Moto feature that activates the flashlight with a tomahawk chop gesture.

There are much more powerful and feature filled phones out there but I feel the Moto G delivers a great value for the price.

Moto G is a few hundred, and flagship Samsung's are north of a grand.

I kept my radar up on Slickdeals.net, and got a Pixel 9 for $250 last June. It pays to shop around, and not be in a hurry. Or, just throw down your money and don't waste time!

I use a moto g stylus 5G-2023. I purchased it as an open box item from Best Buy. I have no issues with it. I have enjoyed my moto phones. I work construction. I can be clumsy and I can deal with breaking a cheaper phone. The stylus, I never use it.

I have been doing Pixel for several generations now and it has been great. The problem with the others like Samsung is they try to force their own eco systems. I don’t want Samsung Gallery, Samsung browser, messaging… I just want clean simple Android. Pixel offers a long update lifecycle as well. When deciding, look at how long they do updates for. Motorola is one of the worst.

They promise 2 major Android version upgrades.

Moto? It looks like it may depend on the product. Current Pixel and higher end Samsung go seven years. Some entry level Moto as short as two years. Just something to look at.

Had a Moto g stylus a few years ago and it was extremely slow... even for 4 gb of RAM it seems... but I think they've put much better processors in them since then. And plus one for the chop short-cut flashlight feature (especially when looking under the hood!)! That reason alone might be why I will always have a Moto. My current phone is an Edge from a few years ago. Love it. But you might not beat the value of a current g stylus. A new model might be on the way soon.

Gonna go back to Android and I am considering a Samsung S25 Ultra. Or.... is the Moto G Stylus good enough to suffice? I do want a phone with s pen because my typos are driving me crazy.

I am using a Samsung S-24 for two years and like it. I have a tendency not to overthink cellphones-especially when 75% (or more) is used for basic functions-calls and text and the web.
However-I would think a "Moto phone" would be satisfactory for you as well.

Those motos slow down pretty quick. I did like the flashlight gesture and the volume button hold feature when playing music. My pixel is still good after almost 4 years. Somehow the performance and battery life is still like new.

Moto G Stylus 5G 2023 model here, don't use the stylus thou thought I would. It's a good phone for my use, 6GB RAM, 256GB built in storage with 118GB filled and I can add memory card.
Had G Power before this, keeping phones about 4 years on average.

You might not need a stylus, I have a regular iPhone 14 for work and a Pixel 10 Pro XL for my personal device. I find typing on the iPhone infuriating and having to make a ton of corrections.

The Moto devices are great and well worth a consideration.

Pretty good prices on the Google Fi store for the Pixel 10 at $449.

My Pixel 7a has been flawless. Still functions and looks like new. I thought I saw some good pricing on the 9 and 9a recently as well as the 10 but I bet the lower prices are for existing Google Fi customers.
The 10 is $400
The 10 Pro is $450
The 9a is $249... that's a good deal.

If I was on Android there is no doubt in my mind I would be trying out a version of the 10 and most likely the Pro at these crazy good prices. I dont see how anyone can go wrong. I even thought I would like to try one out "just because" I LOVE all electronics, always looking for something new and exciting and it's been a long time since I was on Android and Google is pumping these phones out. I think to grab some market share.

Your experience with the Pixel says it all, you should go for it.
For me I pretty much have removed google from my life, just is what it is. A personal thing but still am curious about the new Pixels.

Moto G Power is a better performer for a few more $$. Last few phones have been Motorola and generally happy but current one is starting to show its age. NOT spending $1000 plus for a phone, that's for sure. Planning to stay in the Android camp in the low to mid-price point based on my needs. There are some good 2024-year model deals, but you will lose out on a year of upgrades so phone will date earlier with associated security risks. May not be a concern?

Do like the Razr, but again a bit pricey and questioning the reliability of the folding screens. Appeal for me is the folded size as my larger phone is forever falling out of my pocket when sitting down at a restaurant or in the car. Seems you now pay a premium for a smaller screen/phone Crazy!
