There are a couple of new documentaries on TV this week about the whole civil suit trial of the Goldmans against OJ Simpson. Saw some portions of one of them already and it's eye opening. If interested, check your TV guide for your area code.

Here in my area the shows are on:

LMN, Wed 9/30/15 at 8 pm - The Secret Tapes of the O.J. Case: The Untold Story

A&E, Thu 10/1/15 at 9 pm - O.J. Speaks: The Hidden Tapes

He could have laid low after the murder trial.

His robbery luckily included Kidnapping (super serious charge, just beneath murder IIRC).

So now he is serving a sentence that will probably see him die behind bars.

I think he could get out in 2017 it seems.

"On July 31, 2013, the Nevada Parole Board granted Simpson parole on some charges from armed robbery convictions, but he will continue to be held for at least four years on other charges."

Yes while we're at it, why don't we just release all the robbers and kidnappers?

Must be very comforting to blame anything on the "Liberal Media". As I recall he was found innocent by a jury after his lawyers managed to put the LAPD on trial instead.

So what new truth has Fox News revealed that the liberal media did not? I happened to think he was pretty guilty based on what was reported then. Seems everyone who didn't have a negative experience with law enforcement thought so as well.

He was convicted in a civil trial. The attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, stayed away from the technical and medical evidence and did the job by sticking to the timeline of events that could be accurately documented and confirmed with an absolute certainty. If you read his book, Triumph of Justice, it is obvious beyond any reasonable doubt that OJ is guilty. The civil trial and book make the criminal trial look and sound like a sick comedy.

There was one good reason for this approach that never saw the light of day at the time of the post trial circus. The jury was told that with the DNA evidence there was only one chance in 170 million that the blood evidence found at the scene in various places was not that of OJ. A lady juror stated when interviewed that she voted not guilty because she was told that the evidence had to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the accused was guilty. So, she said that because of that one chance in 170 million there was the possibility that it was not OJ. She stated that she worked hard at convincing several other jurors that because of that one chance that OJ deserved the benefit of the doubt. The interview that was aired on TV with her was carefully edited. It was apparent that the jury did not understand something as complicated as numbers.

It would have been impossible to get a guilty verdict. The one person who could at least have caused a mistrial caved. But a second trial would have had a hung jury.

I videotaped the entire trial and still have the tapes here somewhere.

He was as guilty as the day is long. That glove nonsense "if it doesn't fit you must acquit". Leather shrinks after getting wet unless it dries while something like a hand helping it keep its size. So of course it didn't fit.

Ron goldmans blood in the sink trap at O.J.'s house is a dead give away that the killer washed up in that sink.
Nicole and Ron's blood mixed found on a pair of O.J.'s socks. Gimme a break.

However in typical Hollywood fashion it was a circus. You've gotta give it to the lawyers, they definitely earned their fees.
Juice shoulda cut his losses and because he basically got a gift of freedom kept his head down and made a little life for himself however you've gotta figure after beating the murder beef he felt untouchable.
Karma still prevailed and he went to prison regardless.
The trial did make me feel the American justice system works. The state did make its case in my eyes however the jury in their infinite wisdom decided they didn't,and a guilty man walked free
I feel if there is even the slightest doubt you've gotta let them go. If there is even the slightest chance that a free man is in prison the system fails.
The prosecution absolutely has to make their case, beyond any doubt, not just reasonable in my opinion.
But that is just an opinion

I will disagree and so does the law. It is "guilty beyond reasonable doubt". This means that there could be no "reasonable doubt" in the mind of a "reasonable person" that the defendant is guilty.

Nothing can be 100% certain and the fact that it takes all 12 people to apply a guilty verdict is the highest standard on the face of the earth. Freeing someone under a higher required standard would mean murders would be free to go kill and rape again.

Not to mention trying to put them on over grippy latex gloves.

Speaking of OJ's lawyers ... his friend and lawyer Robert Kardashian was extremely shocked that OJ was found not guilty. They show the video tape of his face in court when the verdict is read and the look on his face is utter shock.

The show also says that Kardashian basically disowned OJ after the trial, and even rejected OJ on his death bed when he was dying of cancer. I think Kardashian knew OJ was guilty, but defended him as a lawyer just because he was friends with OJ and Nicol.

These shows will bring out some stuff that was never revealed back when the original trial occurred. Like OJ denying he owned the pair of shoes that made the bloody foot prints at the crime seen. Only 299 pairs in his size were ever sold in the US, and he denied ever owning some. Then they pull out dozens of photos of him dressed up with those very shoes on. The look in his eyes when he got caught lying is something to see.

I'm well aware it reasonable doubt as I said in my post however how many men have died on death row that were later proven innocent based on the DNA left at the scene.
That's why I said any doubt. 1 person innocent in prison is too many. I wonder if your opinion would change if you or a loved one was on trial and the circumstantial evidence was very strong and they were found guilty. My brother was victimized in this way. He did 5 years on a 10 year bit. The police had it in for him and made sure he went to prison even though the official narrative wasn't the actual story.
Once it was clear there was an issue he had a choice. Retrial, another 100k in lawyer fees and more stress to our family as well as the whole thing back in the media, which would certain kill our business due to the negatives,or immediate parole and we just not talk about it.
So yes I have a vested interest in absolutely no doubt towards guilt. Too many times cops will adjust evidence, people are intimidated and silenced and the truth is an afterthought to perceived justice.
I've walked in these shoes as has my family.

It was unethical for him to defend OJ if he knew he was guilty. He did it because OJ was his friend.

Or maybe he didn't realize it until after the trial, and that's why Kardashian disowned OJ after the trial.

Any examples? I don't recall any media outlets coming out saying he wasn't guilty.

Watch the TV shows to find out more. One tonight, other tomorrow night ... I posted the channel info at the top of this thread.
