So it was pretty, not any more, but was pretty, and I had 6 NGK plugs that won't fit in my next vehicle, so I decided it was time to change the plugs in my MS-8. Last time I pulled them I noticed some oil in the driver's front plug hole. Didn't want to do anything about it, so I never bought gaskets. I pulled the wire on it, stuffed down the socket, broke it loose, and started twisting it out. Took me a while to get the plug out of the whole because there was oil up to almost the top of the spark plug socket. Pull the middle, no oil, pulled the passenger's, not as much, but still a good amount of oil. Middle plug had an orange tint to it, and the Pass and Driver's were both black.
I took a look down the hole of the driver's front plug hole and what do I see, but a mountain range of black stuff. Water injestion, a qt of FP, some OTC stuff, Acetone, and still got a mountain range on the crowns.
Pulled the back ones, and they were all white.
I guess no amount of chemical cleaning can clean a mechanical problem. Still getting about 19-20 mpg, but I wonder, if I kept the car, how much more I could get by fixing the VC gasket, and doing a piston soak?
