Oil temperture before going at it (wot)

Coolant comes up to temperature faster than oil does. If the coolant is up to operating temperature, and the oil is 140F, I say that's fine for romping on it.

I drag race using 20/50 oil
Typically we unload car,put it on the jack and
run the car with the rear wheels spinning till I see
about 140-150 water temps in the heads
then we cool it down to as cold as I can which in summer is about
110-115 degress

We pull to the burn out box this cold and start the burn out procedure
by the time we see the green light its at about 140 again and we
launch at that temp and spin the engine to 7500 or so..Its reaches 180
at the stripe and we click it off - I have been doing it this way
for 20+ years and I am sure your car has thinner oil and more
heat soak

So in answer to your question, you are good to go as long
as you have some heat in the rear gears too
