Count me as another vote for anything name brand. 5w30 or 5w20 whichever you prefer. The engine was originally spec'd for 5w30 but is now back spec'd to 5w20. I had a 98 2wd with a 4.6 and ran napa brand 5w30 in it. Never a single problem with that truck at all 70k miles when I decided I couldn't live without 4x4 anymore.

My 98 F150 returned far better UOA results with M1, 10w30 than with the other oils.
260,000 miles and the cylinders still look great, it consumes no oil between changes and runs perfectly.

Ok question:
I had mobil super 10w30 in my truck 5qt of oil 1 qt mmo. Did 190 miles and now I put the mc filter and oil 6qt 5w20 blend.
I was driving a good bit this morning. Did the change and just got done driving again.
The truck seams louder and does seems as "strong" as before.
Is it my mind or does the truck maybe like thicker oil?
If so do I do 10w30 again or will 5w30 work?
