good oil for modified ford 4.6l (supercharged)

I am considering supercharging my 4.6L engine in my '98 F150. The kit I am looking at is made by Vortech and it is a centrifugal type blower. The instructions from Vortech's web site state to use a full synthetic 5w30 oil with API SG or SH rating. These instructions were written in 1997 or 1998 when those specs were more relevant. I am currently waiting on a response from Vortech to verify if current SM rated oils are suitable for use with the supercharger.

In the mean time, what oils would you suggest for this application. Vortech clearly states to go with a strict 3k mile OCI, so extended drains are not a consideration.

Mobil 1 0w40 would be overkill, but that would be what I run. Wait, that IS what I run, LOL!

I've got a Vortech S-trim on the Mustang right now for 50k hard miles (5+ 1/4 track, auto-x, and casual road racing) and it is still going strong. I've always followed they recommendations of the tuner which has been Castrol GTX 5w30 or Pennzoil Conventional 5w30. Reasoning behind it was that there tended to be a lot of oil blow-by that happened when under boosted conditions when using synthetics. So far so good. A friendly FYI, when doing the install, weld the oil tap for the blower instead of the following Vortech's instructions and doing just a tap and screw. Also, change out the plastic oil tube that leads to the blower for a braided SS line. But most importantly, have fun!
