Hello all,

So I have 4 vehicles which I have been using just regular 5qt jug of castrol 5w30 and a fram tough guard filer. The silverado uses a ACDelco filter. All of them are dd's or get driven at least once a day.

Car 1 is a 2003 Galant 2.4 4 banger with a little over 100k on it.. It gets frequent freeway trips usually under 30 miles and a lot of street use. No oil leaks or oil burning.

Car 2 is a 2001 Chevy Venture v6. Hardly any freeway use mainly a grocery getter so lots of short trips and lots of start ups.

Car 3 is a 2008 2500HD Silverado. Work truck so towing heavy loads, lots of freeway use and some stop and go street use. Needs some as heavy duty as the truck but wont gunk up.

Car 4 is a 2000 Hyundia Sonata. Does not get driven often however it has 120k+ miles, no leakage, no oil burning.

Im just looking for an oil that would be best for each application. Also Im curious if switching from the non-synthetic conventional oil they all use to a high mileage synthetic blend or synthetic oil will cause seal leaks because none of the cars leak a drop. I hate leaks lol as Im sure everyone does. So thanks in advance

#1 5W-20 Mobil Super HM, Valvoline Maxlife, GTX HM, Pennzoil High Mileage. #2 5w30 Pennzoil Platnium/Ultra. #3 Rotella T6, Delvac. #4 5W-20 Pennzoil Platnium/Ultra. Synthetics are compatable with all seals if they did start leaking with a synthetic more than likely it would be because of sludge being removed from the seals causing oil to slip by. Also the Silverado HD I can only assume is a diesel really should be running a HD diesel oil not a passanger car motor oil. The oils listed are oils I would run if they were mine somebody else may give you more ideas but this is only a suggestion some of which I would consider the best.

Thank you. I am curious though if once the oil 'slips' by the seals while using a syn after it is done pushing out sludge will it seal back up?

Also I was curious how would Valvolines newest creation NextGen hold up on Vehicles 1 and 4 with a 5w20?

^^ The HD Truck listed in #3 is a gasoline engine.

No, no sludge every vehicle has their changes all respectively at there 3~3500 mile marker. No sludge in any of the vehicles.

The reason to switch oils or see if there is a need to, is because I'm confirming that what I'm doing is in the engines best interest.
