I don't know if anybody has ever done a test on the oil that comes with the Scottoiler's.
A retailer here in New Zealand tried to get Scott oil analysed.It appears to contain some silicones.It is nothing special in my opinion ,other than that it appears not to mess up the back end of the bike so much.
I would not use chain bar oil as it contains sticky stringing additives that causes strings (picture dog drool) of oil to form between the sprocket and the chain ,and then blow all over the rear of the bike.
