Ok gotcha. Try a piston soak with mmo over night. Put a 1/4 qt in each spark plug hole. Put the plug back in and the next day pull the plugs back out and spin it over to blow any left over mmo out. Reinstall the plugs, change the oil to Mobil 1 High Mileage 10w30 for its cleaning ability, and run a couple 3k ocis before you make a decision on the matter.
Also, I dont know if its been said or not, change your pcv valve and inspect the pcv system to make sure its in good condition.
And then if all has failed and its just an oil drinker on the way out, put an extended drain oil filter on it and run a cheap HM 10/40 and just top it off qhen its low. Oci once a year
