I just picked up an EU2000i Generator. It's got a Honda 100cc engine it. Any recommendations on oil for this? I would like to run synthetic for the sake of longevity, but is this a bad idea for this engine/application?

M1 10W-30 would be fine but so would any dino (mineral) oil as well. These are not stressed engined and will last forever as long as you keep an eye on the oil level and change it regularily.
I have a 40 year old B&S lawnmower that runs like new on a diet of 20W-50 dino changed out once per year.

Virtually all air-cooled Honda small appliance single/2-cyclinder 4-stroke engines call for 10W30 multivisc oil.

Use any 10W30 to your heart's content.

It may be suprising but they do like the multivis. Enjoy the reduced RPMs over a non-inverter genset!

I like the syn oils in these. Under light load outside in winter it never gets very warm.
