If you are buying at CT and don't want the Fram, you can check the Quaker State, made by Purolator, filers to see if they have your size. I believe here they are priced between Fram EGs and TGs.

Certainly, there have to be other options. I do know that for certain part numbers, it's hard to beat the price on Fram up here in Canada. Napa might be able to help you out, and I'm sure there are plenty of local parts stores in your area. Some will be expensive and/or sell Fram, others won't. Autopartsway.ca is another place to find filters online, with free shipping if you order enough stuff.

The G is killing me. $10 filters are hard to swallow when I'm used to $4.99 for a Wix 51515.

Wait until you look at German cars...most of them use cartridge filters made only by Hengst/Mann/Mahle and aren't sold at auto parts stores. My last oil filter was $18.35.

Oddly, the cheapest filters I've bought have been for my Audi, and they were all either German Bosch, Mann, or Mahle. I don't think I ever paid over $5 for any of them, and they now sell the Manns locally for the same price. Unfortunately, they only carry the filters that tend to have a European fitment. The only ones that are expensive are the long life, fleece Manns, around triple the price of the regular ones.

Hi again guys!

I bought 1 case of bosh filters and now I am trying to choose the best quality/priced synthetic oil.

I was looking towards buying 2 case (12L each) of 5w20 PC Supreme Syn oil for 52$ (which is quite cheap!) :

Any good feedback on this oil?

Why is it that on the tech sheet, the 5w20 has a Cold Cranking Viscosity of 3572 and the 5w30 has 4850, is the 5w30 better for winter??

The LOWER number is better.

PC products are excellent, use them with confidence

Small question, I have Castrol Syntec 5w20 in the engine right now, with around 2000km on it...

The Cold Cranking Viscosity on the Castrol Syn 5w20 is 6600, as showed on here:
http://catalog.parentpetroleum.com/Asset/syntec-5w20.pdf

And the Petro Canada supreme Cold Cranking Viscosity is 4600.

I do alot of short trips and probably wont to enough km to get the castrol syn out this winter. Would it be worth it to switch to the Petro Canada Supreme in order to prevent cold cranking weardown on the engine? Or it does not make so much of a difference?
