Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40, Mobil 1 High Mileage 10W-40, Rotella 5W-40, Pennzoil Ultra 5W-40, Amsoil 5W-40, Motul 300V 5W-40, Amsoil DEO or AFL 5W-40, Red Line xW-40 (see where I'm going here?

).

There's a used oil analysis on a modified EVO in the used oil analysis forum. I'll try to find it.

edit: Mobil 1 0W-40 used oil analysis on a 360 whp Evo.

Why's that? Additive clash? Seems like something like Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck or RTS in the summer and Mobil 1 0W-40 in the winter would be a good way to go.

Well I'd call it chemistry clash, but yes.

I went with Mobil 1 15w50 Racing in my car recently and I can't tell you just how happy I am with it. Very very smooth and I swear I can tell a difference in (more) power somehow. Friends have told me this may have somehow helped raise the compression. All I know it, for my 2.3l Turbo (modded) it is by far the best oil I've ran yet. And I've ran Rotella T6 5w40, Redline 10w40, Pennzoil Platinum 5w30, Castrol GTX 5w30, Valvoline SynPower 10w30, GC 0w30 and also a mix (which worked very well).

If it didn't get cold, I'd run 15w50 Mobil 1 year round, cause to say I'm impressed with it so far, doesn't even begin to tell you. If anything, at least give it a try. It's so hot out now, it's worth it, and I think you will be a VERY happy camper.

I got it on special for $30 with a filter.

^^2nd. Mobil 1 15W50 is in a class by itself. One of the best oils made imo. It`s also cheap and easy to find. Isn`t it about $22 for a 5 quart jug at Walmart?

I am very fond of Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck. I don't drive an EVO but our VW 2.0 FSI motor burns zero oil between changes...this motor is not kind to oil either. I thought about Red Line but it's just easier to drive to the local store and buy Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck.

If he is racing his EVO he might notice higher water/oil temps using a 15W50...I noticed this using REd Line 15W50 in one application - not idiot lights, actual guages. I guess this factor depends upon the engine...
