Just brought home a pre owned 2012 Subaru Impreza 2.0 with 47,000 miles on it

Owner's manual calls for 0w-20 ILSAC GF-5
Not sure of the current fill, it has a napa filer on it.

I was thinking either Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy or Pennzoil Platinum Pure Plus

Any suggestions? My commute consists of easy 25% city/75% highway driving

I've ran Pennzoil Ultra 5W20 up until 50k. When the PU phased out at my local Walmarts, I started using Mobil 1 0W20 & 30. Now I have a stash of Pennzoil Ultra again (PUP). Both brands have been good and there is no difference I can tell running 30 weight oil either but I'm past the warranty. Take your pick or whatever is cheapest.

Save some bills and use 5w20. The boxer doesn't abuse the oil much and any name brand is fine. Do keep an eye on the dipstick though. Some FB engines had an issue with excessive consumption.

Quaker State Ultimate Durability 0w20.....would do fine....and save you a few dollars each OCI....and should be able to do 7500 +/-

My choice for a good mid-tier filter would be the Fram Tough Guard.

Based on what? the 2012 is the fb20 which has timing chains as well as the hydraulic timing chain tensioner. It requires syn oil.. and there is no price difference between 0w20 and 5w20.

Personally I would use Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20 its around 50% PAO and costs around 28$/5qt I got mine with the rebate so it was around 18$
