Follow proper torque settings if you are to re tighten the pan bolts. Sounds like you are on target with the sealant if you are avoiding the $400.00 garage quote. ARX has no impact on gaskets or seals, with respect to degradation. Unless the seal was reinforced with oxidized oil deposits, I surmise that the pan gasket leak was purely coincidental.
