Application instructions-
I find it interesting that the dose is 2oz/qt in every other application besides the manual transmission.. I followed the 1oz/qt.. and hope it isn't a typo..
I'm a little over 1000 miles now.. and was thinking about draining it this afternoon..
or.. keeping it in for another weekend of delivering pizza (would be at around 1500 by monday, at which point I would drain it).
This transmission has a slow leak... I can't find any application instructions for both cleaning and leaking manual transmissions....
I have a case of amsoil 5w30 MTF waiting... going to put it in the transmission and transfer case eventually...
My assumption... is that, I might get better results, by leaving the arx in for another weekend of driving, changing the fluid- but sticking with 5w30 supertech and running that for another 1500-2000 to help condition the cleaned out seals before switching to the amsoil MTF... as similar to the arx seal conditioning instructions for engines. The leak has already slowed down a lot.. it was never very much... but the parking spot at work where I am usually parked, would ordinarily have a somewhat "wet" spot... it's mostly dried up now, with only the occassional drip.
any comments on my thoughts for a (slightly) custom manual transmission arx application would be apreciated.
The other question... when I do my engine.. capacity of 5.7 quarts.. is that close enough to 6 quarts to just use the full 12oz bottle? Or should I measure out 11.4oz exactly?
I can't find any additional application spacific information for manual transmissions on the arx site...quote:
The application ratio is 1 ounce of Auto-RX® per quart of oil. Drive 1,000 miles and drain the Auto-RX® and oil. Refill according to your vehicle manufacturer's recommendation. The application will last for the life of your manual transmission.
