Yes $9.00 p/qt but there is no shipping, Redline Co. is in my area I can just go pick it up, haha. Plus many loacal vendors sell it off the shelf. So, yeah if you pay for shipping, it will increase the price.

The cheapest I have found RP XPR 5w30 shipped is for $15 p/qt. That price included shipping. Just crazy price to me.

Its not that I am a Mobil 1 guy, its just, I don't want to spend the money for Redline or RP XPR if there really is no additional benefit. That is all. I just dont like wasting money. That money can go towards somethign else for the car

The Redline 0W-xx is more expensive than the 5W-x.
OG racing has been selling Redline 5W-x for about $109 a case of 12 with FREE shipping.
It goes up to about $125 for the 0W-x
Not that I am qualified to recommend one oil brand/grade over another, just trying to clear the confusion on price.

Now, the 2006 EVO was built before API SM came out.....am I correct?
SM lowers the amount of some of the additives from SL.
The concern being catalytic converter life.......looking out to the 100K mile service life.
If SL (not sure when that came out, so maybe the 2006 owner's manual calls for something before that?) was fine in 2006, I would not worry about a oil with the antiwear additives at that level now.
Of course, just dumping additives in on one's own would be pushing your luck unless you know far more than I do about what you are doing.

As for oil temp.....I am sure that you know that it reaches a higher temperature than what you measure in the pan.....how much higher?....I don't know.
However, if it is serious, your oil analysis will tell you.
Each time you modify your engine......an oil analyis becomes important.
So if/when you go with another turbo mod, you get to go through the whole thing again.
But then.....that is part of the fun of the car hobby.
