Hi I was wondering what oil you guys recommend for a high comp gsr, if specs help im running 12.5 to 1 compression with toda type c cams dynoed at 215hp and 146tq been running eneos 5w30 but recently the valve noise has been getting to me. Should go with a slightly thicker oil like mobil1 10-40 or royal purple 15w40? Also was wondering about the the edelbrock zinc additive?

Mobil 1 0w40 is pretty stout on its own, plus it boasts a high viscosity index and tons of builder approvals.
I doubt you need any extra zinc, it would probably upset the balance of the additive package of whatever your running.
Also Mobil 1 high mileage 10w40 is pretty nice.
Also consider Shell Rotella T6 5w40. I don't think a 15w40 would help anywhere even though you don't have cold weather.

Alright so I just went ahead with the mobil1 10-40 full synthetic just because it was on sale at wal mart for $25 but for future reference any of you have spec comparisons for royal purple eneos and mobil in there respective 40 weights
