Oil for new CanAm Spyder ?

What specifically does the owners manual you got with your Spyder recommend for oil? What other countries have in their manuals is immaterial.

Despite the fear mongering, I do not know of one case on this forum, no matter the internal combustion device they use for transportation, that has had an engine failure warranty denied because the dealer/manufacturer analyzed the oil. Heck, I can't recall seeing a post about an engine failure on a new vehicle that was related to oil weight in a warranty period. If someone can find such a thing, please post.

Forget about the first documents and you will see exactly what they recommend .in the owner manual in french or english .. SL SJ SM SN no mention of Jaso ....

however in the repairs manual they say sn OR Jaso ..... not confusing at all isn't ...

BRP can go to hell ... Ill go with Amsoil metric 10w40 ... if they ever argue , ill show them the BS info and to a judge if I have too. After all they made a recommendation, its not mandatory to use their written confusions ...

You've got more than enough "shadow of a doubt" to be just fine. Seriously, I don't know of anyone who's had a warranty claim denied because of an after the fact oil analysis. Mobil 1 10w40 4T is stout stuff, 5000 mile OCI's in my shared sump ZRX1200. However, Amsoil is good too. Running 20w50 Amsoil Metric currently in this brutal hot summer.

I'd use the least expensive full synthetic you can find that meets the required spec. Brand doesn't matter, only the spec and weight matter...

Any one of these 40 grade synthetics will meet and exceed your mileage expectations...

Looks more recent than other posts of similar nature, however no dates should be considered a party foul around here. Why the hesitancy to post dates is my question.

Because it's made up. There are like 4 different fonts in use there.

BLS does the same thing with the Mobil 1 'spec sheet'.

Lol, ain't that the truth? But I will give credit where credit is due, and those analysis seem to be more recent than some of the misinformation in the past.
