Evening, folks! Quick question....
I've just purchased a 1990 Nissan 300ZX with the NA (non-turbo) 6 cylinder engine. It has just under 78,000 miles on it, and has been driven very rarely in the last year or so, since it's last oil change. After a test drive, I checked the oil and it was a nice, clean golden color. The young lady selling it just had too many vehicles, and had to sacrifice one to be able to buy a new house.
My question is: I plan on an oil change in the next week or so. The specs call for 10w-30 or 10w-40. Should I stay with that weight of oil, or switch to a 5w? I'm in Washington, so, the weather averages from the 30's in Winter to the 80's in Summer. Not too hot, not too cold.
I don't plan on much Winter weather driving with it, that's what my Tahoe is for. Just looking for a reasonable oil for some top-down driving when it's nice. Thanks in advance!
