Oil for 6.7L Cummins

I have not had issue getting it threaded on mine. It seems to be the easy part of the process. Maybe my arms are long. I seem to recall using my left hand to shimmy the filter up until I can get my right hand under it, at which point the right hand does the spin while lifting move.

Perhaps put a jack under the passenger radius arm jack point and lift up a few inches to raise that corner of the truck while allowing the suspension to droop.
Jacking up on the passenger radius arm always did the trick when changing the oil on my buddies ‘19

Cool. Didn't see it on the bottle probably on the spec sheet or i was lookig at an old bottle
. There's not alot of love for rotella on this forum even though T6 meets both ck-4 and Cummins ces 20086 and there's also some 5w40 ck-4s that dont meet the cummins spec , for example mobil-1

Good you pointed that out. The mobil 1 5w40 ck4 is one of those "all fleet", sn rated.

I like to see the Ford WSS-M2C171-F1 rating and the ces 20086.

For the life of me I cant see ces20086 anywhere. Where is it? If it doesnt say ces 20086 its not technically warranty approved for cummins. Neither the mobil-1 nor the delvac branded 5w40 carries the ces 20086 spec. That I can find help me out here

I actually wonder if it is possible for a ck-4 SN all fleet oil to meet ces 20086 due to the gas related additives that support SN. at least I've never seen an SN oil meet ces 20086 has anyone else?

Thank you that's fantastic just what i couldn't find. I wonder why ces20086 isn't on the bottle
I just might switch over from T6 and use this in my lawn tractor as well. ExxonMobil is a real industry leader I've used their oil in my Hondas (cars) for decades

I am going to try the Valvoline Blue Premium for my first OCI at 5000, with Mopar filter. I figured I would stick with the OEM recommended before I venture out to see what the performance is. This is my first Diesel.

I have no complaints with Rotella T6 5w40 year round. My truck 2011-3500 can run the 15w40 at zero degrees and above or 5w40 year round. I use the Rotella T6 5w40 year round no issues with the Fleetguard Stratraphore LF 16035. I know the 2019 Ram's and newer require 10w30 or 5w40 year round.

I found if you take the air box out it make the filter easier to handle and get on the filter mount screw.. take about 2 mins longer but worth the effort vs going through the wheel opening which is small adn lot of crap in the way. check it out.

I have one and have never had an issue with spillage, but struggle to get the filter restarted onto the stud through the wheel well with a prefilled filter. The tire being in the way is most of my trouble.

Maybe there is an easier way than through the wheel well?

I'm lucky, my 2011 3500's oil filter is very easy to reach through the passenger side frame with a few extensions on the ratchet with never any spillage. Installing is just as easy even with filling the oil filter with the T6 5w40. I can thread and hand tighten the oil filter then tighten with my ratchet extension.

I think in like '15 or '16 YM the stock mount location changed creating issues for not only the oil filter install/ remove and the removal of turbo actuator box as well.. I have a 2017 and find taking the air cleaner box out and hose helps a TON.. then i can get on top and see everything.. LOL..
