So I'm checking prices at a local "U-pull-it" yard when I see they are selling their used motor oil for 50 cents a bottle. It does not say what size bottle. I'm assuming you bring your own jug, fill and pay accordingly. They also are selling antifreeze for 2 dollars a gallon. Oddly enough, they do not sell used transmission fluid.

I guess if you had a furnace that could burn used oil it would be worth it. I have no idea what you'd want with used anti-freeze.

Used. How used? Agree with furnace use. You cannot know the quality, unless of course you do the BITOG thing and get a used oil analysis. This begs the question as to whether it is a VOA or used oil analysis. LOL.

I hadn't thought of it that way. Although here in Florida, winter is short and really not all that cold, but at the same time, if you had an older diesel, you could cut your fuel with this stuff, say at a 10 or even 15 percent mixture, (10 percent oil, 90 percent diesel fuel). Even if the "bottle" price is 50 cents a quart that's still two dollars a gallon and over a years time that could add up to some savings.

I would imagine very used. I'm guessing this oil comes from the motors of all the cars they scrap. So some junker that could no longer limp it's way down the road finally give up the ghost, it's innard oils were drained and now are for sale. I would imagine pretty nasty, unless the entire yard was filled with vehicles from bitogers.

I meant TechnoLogos, I should have clarified.

I want to see MOAR pics of the old
2000 Volvo XC with the bungee cord used to hold down the battery.
