Oil for 1990 Chevy Pickup

I just bought a 1990 Chevy K1500 pickup wiith 45,000 miles. he truck has done alot of sitting buit runs very well. What do you think about Rotella T5 10-30 semi syn as an oil for this truck?

PS: Trying to convince my dad to use T5 after a run of MaxLife is over. He doesn't drive much anymore and only achieved 2,650 miles in over 6 months on his last fill(he wants it to go 6 months since its not driven). 01 Chevy S-10.
