Just though I would put this out there for Canadians (specifically those in Edmonton)

Trying to hunt down a Bosch filter after seeing river_rat's tests and that it compares extremely well to the Purolator P1. In Edmonton, I found that Dash Distributors carries the P1, but charge $13.21 for it (for PL20195). However, the Bosch filter can be had for $8.50 from I&M Automotive.

While the Bosch is having to be ordered in, it's going to be there Monday, so no biggie for me. Benefit for the Purolator was that it was in stock today.

Anyone looking for Bosch or Purolator filters should be able to phone order it through both of these companies.

Lordco in Richmond, BC stocks the Bosch Filters, they're behind the counter and you have to ask.

I'd imagine most other lordco locations have em, but they should all be able to get them in.

It sucks that we have to hunt around for a lot of these filters, and specially order them, and pay $8 to $12, when these filters are probably found in all kinds of parts stores in the US for probably $4 or $5 in most cases. I hate the fact that Canada has such a poor selection of oil filters and at such high prices too. I miss the days when our Walmarts sold the AC Delco oil filters for just $3 to $5!

In my area in Hamilton a small local auto parts store sells Wix and another brand called Auto Extra that I suspect is also made by wix but cheaper. I don't think you can go wrong with Carquest filters. For 8 Bucks you can buy the blue one which is Wix or the red one which is a cheaper version but still made by Wix.
