Oil filter study

I came across this some time ago. Figured some will find this interesting. It's everyday oil filters that we use and have debates about and the grades they have received. Wanted to share it. Enjoy. The fact that they DEDUCTED for a synthetic media filter having less surface area than a conventional media one, means their study gets an "F"!

Interesting, albeit more than four years old. Is it just me, or is anyone else suspicious when companies like Amsoil and Royal Purple, meaning companies that don't actually make oil filters, come out on top?

No because they are the top of the line filters. Donaldson makes synthetic media filters for most of the heavy duty applications. Napa doesn't make their filters. Ford doesn't make Motorcraft filters STP doesn't make STP filters. Delco doesn't make Delco filters. Mopar doesn't make Mopar filters etc.

There is the problem of they think they know . The problem is running rampant these days

I did not say that those were not good filters. Forgive the double negative, but it is necessary in this instance. Nevertheless, I remain suspicious when certain boutique brands always rise to the top on various websites with little or no supporting evidence.

There was a question about the A RX post results as well. We have to sift through the info and enjoy it.

Yeah, there's some stuff in that study that doesn't seem to add up in the right direction.

That isn't a "study". It's an anecdotal, uninformed, baseless and biased rambling ....

What passes for "science" is astounding these days.
