The truck uses an MC FL820s oil filter. I think the thread size is 22mm x 1.5 mm and I want to continue using the 820s filter for warranty purposes. Does anyone make a relocation kit that will handle this filter/thread size.? My internet search hasn't turned up anything. Thank you. dbf

Permacool

118 Spin On Adapter
Fits M22x1.5 threads. Designed to fit late Ford V8's and some Hondas. 1/2" NPT(int) ports. 2-1/2" O-ring included.

That's the adapter ....

I could not however find a remote mount with those same threads at the Donaldson site (that has just about any head you can think of).

Where will you relocate it to? I have the 5.4L v-8 and it is also a little tough to get to. FYI you can use any filter you want and Fors cannot deny your warranty. NO WHERE in the owners manual (that I can find) does it state that use of a non-motorcraft filter will void your warranty. That being said I normally stick with the oem filter, i.e. GM=AC/Delco, Ford = Motorcraft, Toyota = Toyota, etc... Just wanted you to know your options are open.

Check with derale. I believe they have a complete 22mm kit with filter mount and blockoff adapter.

Or, just use the 3/4" filter mount with one of the other Motorcraft filters(FL1a/FL400s/FL299....).

I would think that adding a remote mount is more of an engineering change than not using the OEM filter.

The only 'remote oil filter mount' failure that I've seen is when someone used zip ties instead of hose clamps. It was funny!
I doubt that you will have an oil related failure as long as the oil level is full.
If you do, swap everything back prior to towing to the dealer
