Welcome. Worst case scenario something goes wrong with engine, it 'could' put the warranty in jeopardy. Something about Nissan/Infiniti specing the 6607 instead of the 7317, even when the latter will easily fit. Never seen a Nissan that the longer wouldn't fit, but the 6607 is called for. Some older Nissans spec'd the 7317 though.

So my advice, use the XG6607 while under warranty, and keep the Nissan manufacturer and filter warranty. That way no worries. After Nissan warranty, want to use the longer 7317 your call. I will say though for standard Nissan oci, XG can be overkill imo for one oci. But if money no a consideration, XG a solid choice.

Infiniti/Nissan definitely made a couple weird part number calls. On the G37, there is room to have a filter that is at least double the length and a fair bit wider, too. So, I'm not sure why they're so insistent on the shorty.

I usually stick with what's specified, but the longer filters are, ironically, usually cheaper, and if the specified filter isn't there, I'll grab the longer one without question.
