Agree the Kohler filter is a little pricey but seems like a good filter. I use Motorcraft FL-910 on my 15HP Kohler with no issues. Based on the cross reference in a different thread, (link) your filter would be an FL-910 as well.

For the price I was never impressed. I've cut open several B&S and Kohler filters, and many of them were just cheap e-cores that would normally be $3. A Fram PH3614 is $3.77 or so and is an upgrade especially with the silicone ADBV.
I've been running 2614's on my Kohler 7000 for years now. I cut open several OE Kohler filters and wasn't impressed with a single one of them. Last one was loaded with glue that ran down the pleats.
