True. I find it suspicious though that the only authorities advocating the use of synthetic during break in are...... the synthetic oil makers.
Can't find much from engine makers, except Cummins and Briggs & Straton that both specifically recommend not using synthetic during break in.
In any case, just seems like a good idea to keep the factory fill in (the oil the engine designers have spec'd) during break in, which is the first 1,000 miles for Ford.
