Oil extraction is great!

Do you guys run a degreaser to clean it after your done? I heard the bicycle pump bit the seals go bad or something if you don't?

Also anyone do this on a Infiniti or Nissan with a vq37?

Yesterday used HYPER TOUGH ( Walmart ) Multi-Use Hand Held Pump to remove water from the sink and elbow that backed up due to a clog . Used empty 1 gallon jug to pump water into . Taped the hose to the opening . Have used these pumps for coolant , transmission fluid and oil .

Nope. No need. The vacuum pump doesn't pump oil, just evacuates air.
If you're talking about the seals for the canister and caps, no again.

I do after learning the hard way. I have the EWK extractor with a 2 piece hose (flexible metal at the end and clear vinyl at the base) and the oil dissolved the seal between the 2 parts. Luckily they sell the hose separately. I bet if you had something without any seals in the hose, you could get away without cleaning it.
