Another positive even if you do have to go under to change the filter is the extraction is neater in that you don’t get a oily hand pulling the drain plug and the wind doesn’t blow oil everywhere when it slows to a trickle.

Yep works great out 19 GLI w/2.0 I use an extractor each oil change and I have many lifts

Oil extractors work great on the VW 2.0T engines. I used the Pella 6000 in the past, but you can buy any brand to do the job.

I think I'm going to get one before my next oil change. I hate dealing with the VW drain plug. Such a dumb design. My understanding is that the dealer does extract on the 2.0T EA888. I would assume any one that holds at least 6.5L will work? That's the size of the one recommended by a VW channel I watch, but they also sell their own on their site. $97 too much for one of these? The brand is Werkzeug.
