Oil Drain Hell

OK milkshake, 3 minutes of content and 9 of this guy complaining about his own mistake.

Where's the substance, man![referring to video maker] was it head gasket or something else? He kept saying the engine was done, but that might not have been the case. Certainly accelerated wear, but...

Looks like someone needs an engine from the moment the dipstick was pulled. Sure didn't need 12+ mins of him rambling

You chose to watch it ...
So you started a thread with a naked youtube link.
No perspective.
No background.
No context.

People reply to you that the video you posted has extended sections of ramblings and/or lack of focus.
And this is the way you respond?

Seems rather disingenuous bordering on troll behavior.

Can't believe the guy even drained it-one look at the massive amount of coolant (&/or WATER!) In the crankcase, I would have backed it right back out, it's NEW ENGINE TIME!

That much water in the crankcase, there's NO WAY something isn't seriously damaged. Bearings, cam, everything. That thing was FULL!

Advance auto asks me 10x theres just oil in your drain bucket right. Meanwhile a repair shop can recycle that mess
AZ doesn’t even care-water, oil, antifreeze, throw it all in there! I’m sure Safety-Kleen just throws it all in a cracker or something to get the lighter distillates out, the water would just boil off anyway.

Coolant bottle didn't look dry but was low - wonder if owner poured coolant into the oil when the coolant light clicked on. The VW 2.5 is pretty bulletproof outside the first couple years ('05-'06) that had weak timing chains and this example was still running despite being extremely overfull of coolant and oil.

Wish the Youtuber had a follow up of what they found instead of just showing the mess.

"...backed it right back out, it's NEW ENGINE TIME!..."
cant do that here. Must diagnose exact cause, develop plan, offer
to owner (choices in repair, costs of each). R'nR no longer means Remove'n Repair
but simply (remove'n) replace. More of a community here than an hrly shop. Different
business models for different locales, lots of families'n return customers. No busses or
public transportation (4 what these folks need).

"...doesn’t even care-water, oil, antifreeze, throw it all in there..."
just like ur household waste stream. "Wish it was recycled" so throw it
in the bin. Now cost of haul away raises (40% of trash is compostable, get
it out = black gold, leave it in pay more disposal fees) whether sorted later or not.
Same w/plastic (only #1'n 2 is really recyclable. 3 - 7 lobbied by oil co.s to get the triangle & #)
are poisonous as they degrade in the environment. "...throw it all in..." so as to throw it away - tell me
where is 'away'? as we all stew in our own chit, it all burns as temps rise. The best dealieo here is to take
responsibility as end user (there is no 'end' in this earth model we live in) & have manufacturers take back their
products. It is happening all over & abt time ! U havea role in this repair scenario (of the planet) simply keep sorted
& hold onto till pickup or deliver urself (I do all 3). 1 guy comes - p/u the waste oil as he wants space heat (uses to fuel)
in winter, gotta pay the antifreze guy, get paid for the paper/cardboard, metal, etc...
