Oil consumption

It is within the normal oil consumption range specified by the manufacturer.
Quart in 3k doesn't seem unreasonable.
You people need to stop worring about a little oil consumption
i would move up a thicker oil. helped on my 2008 jku with a 3.8.
Try a can of motor oil saver.

Unless driving it close to or at redline I can't see why that would matter.
Maintaining high rpm would vaporize oil faster and evaporate any fuel dilution too.

I duno, my car used 1/4 of a quart and im concerned..maybe paranoid.. Id be concerned if it uses. I dont think its normal to use oil between OCI intervals, guess it depends on alot of things. Try a thicker oil and change out your pcv, one at a time and see if any difference.

Engines went over many changes in the past 15 years due to stricken emissions laws and fuel economy standards. One of those changes was the move to low tension piston rings. Lower tension means at start up the pistons are very loose in the bores and until the engine is at operating temp its acceptable for some consumption to occur.
Once the engine is up to operating temp the piston should tighten in the bore,stopping consumption.
That,among other reasons is why 1 quart per 1000 miles is now considered acceptable. Oils tend to be thinner now,and engines work harder so oil can also be vaporized a bit quicker. Break in is also important.
So instead of "dunoing" now you know.

C'omon, 1000mi per qt has been the accepted norm for probably the last 50 years(higher prior)... Until the 'mid '80s or so, few engines actually went past 3K mi without needing oil... Those limp rings you speak of actually have decreased oil consumption...

I'm only doing a little better than 1qt/1k miles now in my 80's car. Probably around 1100-1200 per qt now.
I have never had an engine that used one quart of oil during the maximum recommended (7,500) OCI. In face none of the engines has even used 1/2 Q. If I had a modern engine, that was not being abused and used one Q in 2 or 3,000 miles, I'd think something was wrong or I got stuck with an engine that had every tolerance at the loose value. Well designed modern engines in daily drivers just don't burn excessive (1Q/2000Mi)of oil unless poorly designed or maintained IMO. Ed

Driving like a Grandma all the time is a surefire path to poor ring sealing. I once had a car that magically stopped burning oil once I moved to a city and started winding it out almost every time I drove it to merge on highways and keep ahead of traffic.

Eddie you would have a heart attack if you drove my 2002 BMW X5 3.0. when it was new it used 1 qt every 1500 miles. It has gotten progressively worse where now, with 165000 miles it uses 1 qt every 500 miles. The dealer says all this is fine. As long as I keep it full so every tank I check the oil and it takes a qt about every other fuel fill. Apparently BMW engines are known for oil consumption/leaks according to the dealer.
There is probably some wear on rings and bearings because at rpms lower than 700-800 the red low pressure light comes on. As soon as you rev it even to 800+ the light goes out. and it runs like a scolded dog. I see no blue smoke and never see any oil in my driveway or in the tail pipe.
