Oil companies comparison charts

Conventionals work so good but the comparison charts show the performance and cleaning and such as very low. I guess they are trying to sell synthetics. Look at Valvoline and Pennzoil. I think an uninformed person could look at those charts and feel the need to get the synthetic because the conventional is rated so low.

They're in the business of selling stuff. It likely that they'll try and push the product with the highest margin to sell that stuff at profit, because thats all they really exist for.

They say use PU or PP exclusively they will warranty against lubrication failure for 500K/15 yr and 300K/10yr but yet when the engine hits 70,001 mi they recommend the high mileage oil.

The 300k mile warranty from Pennzoil includes the High Mileage oil as well (also regular yellow bottle and gold). So essentially using any Pennzoil product will get you the 300k warranty and using Ultra will get you 500k.

An informed person knows that synthetic oils leave less deposits. Its been shown about a million times in engines. Notice how GroupII conventionals are incapable of being dexos1 oils or GM 4718M or HTO-06 or LL-01 or MB 229.5? Those are real engines run in many tests. Higher quality basestock oils leave less junk behind on rings is part of the answer.

Longer OCI such as 15-20k miles in a hot running engine synthetic will be needed, but for shorter OCI at less than 7-8k miles current conventional oil SM or SN is sufficient for normally aspirated engines.

I think they lost alot of credibility when they said, sure go ahead and use high,ileage oils from the get go. Then we think, what is the point of all the other flavors!?
