I bet this is a pretty dumb question, but to be able to learn you need to ask them.

Both my Honda's with M1 5W30 when I change the oil, every 5K miles, with a Filtech OEM filter, I notice that the colour of the oil is the almost the same as the new oil going in. What thoughts? A freind told me that I had a clean engine. All HWY miles on both cars.

Well..I have noticed in that in the past that vehicles that keep their oil cleaner have tighter rings and have better performance and durability. This is very subjective on my part though.

With a UOA you could probably double your OCI.

A friend at work is a district manager for the Philly paper and puts unbelievable mileage on his Envoy and changes his oil every 2K - he could easily triple it.

I put on roughly 1500 a month on my Accord and maybe 600-1000 on the CR-V. My CR-V has 40% City 60% HWY miles. And my Accord has 10% City 90% HWY.

Go up to 7500miles.

I agree, too. Depending upon your driving, it would surprise if you couldn't get 10,000 out of M1 without trouble. 7500 is the next step to try, though.

Especially seeing it is mostly highway miles.

Honda has the oil change interval right on the air filter assembly.

Follow those direction as a "minimum" range.

my parents have a 1992 Toyota Previa minivan. and i notice the samething. oil coming out is almost the same color as going in. they have 190,000 miles on their car. I have never used synth oil in their van. "they dont want to pay for it,and neigher do I. it takes 6.1 Qts of oil. But i do use mobil clean drive. through out its life i used junk oil and whatever i could find. That is until i learned more about oil. Now some of the other cars i use M1 on or amsoil series 3k, the oil comes out black. amsoil is used on a 2.0L suzuki engine. and the m1 i used on the 2.7 sebring. For many years i've always wondered why my parents oil comes out so "clean". 98%-100% of their driving is around town driving too. very short trips.

I will try the 7500 OCI. Should I get a UOA before hand?

Thanks for all the input Guys!
