3 yr old battery could possibly have a weak cell causing a spike in the system setting a false code even though it starts fine.
GM systems are sensitive and can set errant codes, lots of mystery U codes get set this way.
Clear and monitor codes.
OEM battery in my '16 nox only lasted 3 yrs.
