I'm interested in getting a fresh VOA of Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w-40. I plan to use the Oil Analyzers standard test kit.
Do you think any of these additional tests would be useful? I'll be inquiring about the extra costs.
I know both VOAs and used oil analysis should be taken with a grain of salt. This is just to satisfy my curiosity and for the enjoyment of this hobby.

The standard full service test kit is all you need. The only other thing that would be of interest is TAN. You could contact them and ask how much it would be to add TAN (when TBN is already included) to a full service test kit.

Cold cranking simulator test looks entertaining to me; oils are allowed to slip a winter grade in service and I would be interested to know if that is happening after 5,000 miles. Unfortunately I believe MRV (ASTM D4684) is purportedly the more critical test for winter grade and it doesn’t look like they offer that. Maybe I will do it as a one off on my next sample out of curiosity if it isn’t too expensive. It also seems to usually delay receipt of the results a few days if you get extra tests.
