Oil additives are generally frowned upon around here, but is there one that could stop my head gasket from seeping oil? It's only leaking from one small area (oil doesn't even reach ground before being burned). It doesn't leak much...the car burns/leaks less than 1/2 quart every 5000 miles. It's more of a visual eyesore. If the problem worsens, I'll have a new gasket installed.

Try first retorqueing the head.

I would not attempt the use of any chemical means to reform a head gasket.

Usually causes more trouble elswhere.

The problem with most leak stops, is that they stop the leak by clogging it. This is obviously bad for your engine's small oil passages, as well as your oil filter. Other additives swell seals which won't help in your situation.

Chances are if the oil is leaking on the outside of the engine, the gasket isn't doing to well in other areas as well. It might be best to bite the bullet and replace the gasket.
