out/off: 5 quarts Pennzoil Ultra Platium 5w30 and 1 quart HPL Engine Cleaner 40

in/on: 6 quarts HPL PCEO 5w-40 with OG wire backed Fram Titanium FS3675

judging by the bottom of the can, the PUP and HPL Engine Cleaner 40 did some work. i’m drying the media now.

The media is a bit dark but we'll see more details once it's dried. The bottom of can has some debris above what one typically sees on a 3k mileage run so I'd say HPL is working a bit.

i’ll change the filter at 4k when i go to grease the truck and cut it open to see what it looks like.

Yeah the screen on these are very durable, super hard to flex with fingers, I didn't attempt to use razor knife because it wasn't going to really do a lot to get pass that screen. Looks like for 3k miles it picked up a lotta stuff. Filter certainly look like it can go on for longer.
Seeing these pink media going EOL is kinda saddening, they don't make em like they used to, built like tank, the GOAT of oil filters.

I need to try to pull one open with pliers since I still have that FS3600 media stack sitting in its original box somewhere in the garage.

i used tin snips and it worked well. just a pain to get the end caps off. used good needle nose pliers and a lot of rolling the end caps up on the tips of it.
