That’s the King - spring seal and all …Off an inline filter mount in transmission cooler line on my Ram 1500. 30,700 miles. Replaced it with a pH8 for now. Sending a sample in to determine if I should replace the fluid yet or not.

Ya mean the felt or fiber/fabric seal? I don’t knowWhat is the date code? Does anyone know the cut off point date for Fram using the spring seal?
No hard cut-off date ... the changes on the Ultra seemed to roll-out slowly in stages. What is the date code? Does anyone know the cut off point date for Fram using the spring seal?
I didn’t look but it’s one of a few old ones I bought while they were still phasing them out. That filter went away wit the trash truck so I can’t dish it out and see. What is the date code? Does anyone know the cut off point date for Fram using the spring seal?
No not really. The internal filter doesn’t catch much. I decided to run an inline filter because the ZF8/9 fluid is expensive and a big part of the reason ATFneeds changed is because it gets too contaminated with wear/clutch materials. Last UOA 30k miles ago showed the fluid to be new like after 30k miles on the fluid and having been filtered by a previous XG8.Why the need for an external tranny filter? The internal filter should be catching anything worthwhile no?
Do you mean a pan filter? For an ATF filter I would get a filter installed , Get one in for the next OCI!
Sorry meant a magnet.Do you mean a pan filter?
Good ideaSorry meant a magnet.
Of the Magnefines that I've dissected the magentet is loaded and the filter looks like yours. I'm sure it's still trapping small particles but having a magnet for an auto trans is good idea.Good idea
