You used the best for that transmission cooler in line filter. Rank Group knew the dome end gasket material needed to complete the seal of the bypass piece. No scrimping like FB.

No hard cut-off date ... the changes on the Ultra seemed to roll-out slowly in stages.
I didn’t look but it’s one of a few old ones I bought while they were still phasing them out. That filter went away wit the trash truck so I can’t dish it out and see.
No not really. The internal filter doesn’t catch much. I decided to run an inline filter because the ZF8/9 fluid is expensive and a big part of the reason ATFneeds changed is because it gets too contaminated with wear/clutch materials. Last UOA 30k miles ago showed the fluid to be new like after 30k miles on the fluid and having been filtered by a previous XG8.

Of the Magnefines that I've dissected the magentet is loaded and the filter looks like yours. I'm sure it's still trapping small particles but having a magnet for an auto trans is good idea.
