Removed from my 2008 Craftsman w/24 HP Briggs and Stratton engine. This was using 5w-30 or 10w-30 leftover oils but full synthetic. I was happy to find that one of my 5 oil filter sockets worked well on this size. Used for 37.9 hours and 4 years 4 months. And some thought I disliked Fram. Surprise! 😂

ADBV worked well as you can see the oil almost full in the can.

ADBV was a little more flexible than the Purolator One I previously posted. They were both working excellent however. Perhaps they need to be more flexible for the 20k mileage rating. Just something small I noticed.

Holes w/wire backing. 🤤

This is the black seal that some of us talk about on the OG Ultra that seals the leaf spring bypass. The new Ultra's did away with?

Bypass Light test 😁🔦

Below there was some light that came through the wide pleat spacing of the media but nothing wrong with media. And as you see this old style sealed the bypass really well w/no visible light coming through in between can and bypass.

Nice work Justin. Did you catch date code? What oil and filter back on/in? You’re the filter cutting prince 🇺🇸🇨🇦👍🍻🍻

Maybe someday I’ll venture down to Missouri for visit. Or Texas as I know Corpus Christi/Infgleside and Aransas Pass areas.

LOL Thanks!
I have the cut filter still in the garage. I'll try to get you the date code tomorrow. I put in 15w-40 Super Tech Full Synthetic & a Purolator PL10241.

Yeah, that end seal is long gone …
(as is much of the Fram XG)

I should have cut the one I took off my mower.. Was on for 5yrs and around 100hrs with similar oil. I'm sure it looked the same as yours.
On both of my riders the filter is horizontal. I notice on both of the them the media is darker on the bottom side & the top side stays pretty clean.

38 hours on an OG XG, I'm thinking you have run it another same fci, and it would still have been good to go. I ran a Napa Gold/(Wix) 1348 7+ years on a Kohler (no) Courage engine, posted c&p, and it looked great. And that's just a blended media filter. This one looks like it's just getting warmed up. Excellent filters for sure, especially so for the price.

Thanks for c&p.
