Offset question

Hi,

Quick question - say I have a 6" and a 6 1/2" wheel, both ET30 offset. Which way does the extra width go, to ithe inside or outside of the centerline/ hub?

I assume that ET30 means 30mm outboard of the centerline, but if one wheel is a half-inch wider than the other, does the half inch (12mm) get split evenly on both sides of the offset, or will there be more wheel to the inside?

The 1/2" wider wheel will split evenly on both sides of the offset.
