This upcoming Saturday I will be moving into my new College. I won't have much time to post but I will still visit this site occasionally and drop a line to say hey from time to time. So I just wanted to say fairwell for now and I will return soon. Probably next time you see me on here will be around Labor Day weekend and day of.

I really enjoy this site everytime I visit. I have been registered with this site for not quite 3 years yet. November will be 3 years for me. I still elect to keep my membership here but I just won't be posting as much as I normally do. Keep those machines lubed well and clean. So long for now everyone,,,AR

Godspeed and be safe.

Yeah they are!!! I just graduated and life sucks!! Have some fun, always be the designated driver, and if you get low on T.P. hit up McDonalds (extra large rolls).

I assume you are over 20, so you may be able to understand this:

Do your absolute best. Study your azz off. Take the most advanced classes you can. Kick butt.

Unlike life, hard work in college pays off. Too bad many (me included) were a bit immature when we started college. I didn't "get it" until my jr. year. Not that I was a complete idiot my first two years - but I certainly didn't try my absolute hardest.

GREAT advise from GM. Kidding aside it really does work! I did my best when I was working 4 hours in the early AM and classes/labs/studying the rest of the day and night and weekends....and again unlike life - you can see the end very slowly approaching!

Pablo, I think we're brothers. I too look back and realized that I should have buckled down harder than what I did. However, going to college, playing in a kick-butt band was a LOT of fun too.

And don't pick the wrong major. I have a 2 year degree in Criminal Justice/Sociology and I'm now driving a truck (but I like driving as I work for a good company and have a regular run). If I would have put the same amount of time into a nursing degree, X-ray tech, respiritory therapy, etc. in the medical field I would be making some serious bux. Community college is a good way to get your core classes finished at a low cost and gives you time to think about what you want to major in.

Bread and games, people! I'm sure working and studying hard figures in there somewhere, but "All fun and no games makes Jack a dull boy."

I'm sure Garry Allen will tell us that quote's origin.

keep in mind that the teachers are not there to make you learn but they will assist you in your quest for knowledge if you work for it. it's up to you.
Go to class, and if you don't make it to class don't give the teacher a lame excuse, they will see right through it. act like the adult you are.

college is also a haven for hot chicks!
another tip: take typing and a microsoft office class asap. you will use them both in the majority of your future classes and it will make life MUCH easier. they are requirements here, so you have to take them anyway.

I have enjoyed college so much I've been in junior college for 7 years! some day I'll get to transfer to big kid college and get a degree.

Thanks guys. I leave tommorow around 11AM. I am attending The University of Northwestern Ohio. It is a technical college with business classes avaliable such as the office jobs. I will admit, I am not one of those guys who can sit behind a desk all day. I have to be doing something physically, just me. I will be taking Automotive and High Performance and possibly Alternative Fuels. So much to think about but I do not have words to put it into. Even if I did, it would be too much to post.

I hope that I am making the right decision in taking this on. I question it so much because it is a big step forward and right after High School, I thought enough is enough. I went to work in a few factories and just make money. I got sick of reptitive work for 4 years real fast and I needed to do something with my life. The real world has alot to offer, I want it! Wish me luck and I do hope to still frequent this forum. Thanks again,,,,AR

I shoulda' listened to Mom and been a rock & roll star.

My two degrees are worthless due to oversupply of workers. Sorry I didn't have the brains and talent to be a prodigy in a field that pays.

Back to competing for work with millions of illegal aliens.

Sigh.....

Sorry if I come across as a whiner.

I should have been like the other poster mentioning that one should select a course of study that pays off.

When 300+ people apply for one teaching position.... well, that's life.

Pert near 50 and I can't do the physical labor I performed for most of my life due to repeated injuries and wear and tear on the body.

Oh well, it could be worse!!!!

Best of luck to you!!!!

Hey dude, I went to college nights for eight years while working two jobs and raising two children. I only finished because my wife (much wiser than I) informed me that if I did not graduate she and the kids were "gone".

Enjoy your college years, take classes you enjoy and work in a field you enjoy (forget about the money). They can't pay you enough money to "like" a job, you will be doing it for a really long time.

Live long and prosper!
