OEM engine oil filters

Yup, that works, unless you have a Nissan. Only OEM filter I would say no way to. However, If you are buying them from the dealership, you shouldn't have a problem with warranty even if it is the cause of failure.
Do you mind filling me in on Nissan filters? I wasn’t aware they were junk.

I beg to differ! Subaru and them going away from Toyko Roki filters to the blue can of death filter. Was honestly a horrible choice. Now they’re back using Tokyo Roki again. So yes they contrated out. But cardboard end caps and collapsed filters didn’t bode well so tgey went back to high quality filters. So not all OEM is good and not everything after market is great. I prefer OEM but sometimes I like after market too.
As a Subaru owner, I was thrilled when they went back to the Tokyo Rokis. Even though the new ones are made in Indonesia, they seem to be pretty good quality. I’ve run a couple on our 2015 Outback which came with a Blue Can of Death from the factory.

Now that Honda and Fram have split, I’m hoping Honda goes to Tokyo Roki as well!

I tossed a couple not long ago. The louvers were barely open.

Others have posted issues - like mis-installed ADBV. Search for Nissan in the oil filter sub forum - there are several posts.

Back in the day they used to be made in Japan - I think by Mahle and they seemed good. The ones now are from Grupo Gonher Hecho en Mexico.

I don't mess around with aftermarket oil filters any more. It's just too much trouble trying to keep up with what is good and who makes what. Not to mention when companies merge, get bought out or move manufacturing facilities.

Ordering online at my local dealership and then just picking up at my convenience makes more sense for me. It's cheaper that way too and if warranty issues arise, the dealership can't blame aftermarket filters.

This is just what I have decided to do and it works for me.
I do the same. They have given me good discounts on everything I've bought there so I usually stop in and buy 2-6 filters as that will last me 1-3 years as I drain 6 months regardless of mileage which will only be 1500-2000 miles in my case these days as very close to work now and my long road trip days Chicago to Tampa I believe have ended.

Possibility I suppose. That said, if it happens my speculation is the efficiency will be the same (or very close) to current A02. Most any aftermarket will equal or more likely easily beat it, in many cases with at least equivalent build quality and price. So with that for Honda, won't change my thought in post #13.
