Here`s a ? for all BITOG experts. I change my oil religiously every 3000/3 months whichever comes first. Say for instance if I don`t hit the 3000 miles and I change my oil at that third month, would there be any drawbacks to leaving the same oil filter until the next 3/3000 and then install a new one? Only filters I ever use are Mobil 1 and Nissan OEM.

I would go to 3,000 miles period. You could use the oem if it's cheaper. Can that Water Wetter speed corrosion? .02.

Ditto, what I would personally do is a 3k/6month OCI at the least. That's my idea of a severe interval that I follow for the cars that I service that I consider to be under a severe interval.

Never heard of or ever had any problems with the Water Wetter. Fluid in my radiator still looks brand new. One day when I can get the ambition to do it,I plan on doing a radiator drain/refill. You kind`ve made me wonder about the Water Wetter though. I was going to use Purple Ice on my next go around......no reason for the change, just for the helluvit I guess.

On my OCI,I guess the constant short trips are what makes me want to keep the oil fresh and changed often. I live very close to work and sometimes my car`s temp gauge is just reaching the warm up point as I`m pulling into my parking space (plus my car`s engine runs amazingly cool). If I didn`t have to wear a suit/tie every day,I`d be hopping on my bike and pedaling to work.

I`ll probably stick with the Nissan filters. They`re only about $5-$6. Most Z32 owners swear by them, although I can`t tell the difference whether I use a Fram classic orange or a Mobil 1.

That's understandable

I know my commute during college is only a 10-mile round trip, sometimes going many hours between with plenty of time for the oil/engine/transmission to cool back down again, so when I was in school I changed my oil more often (4,500 miles with Amsoil during the winter) and I feel more brave when I don't take as many short trips.
